Remembering Mahatma Gandhi on his 78th Martyr’s Day, Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) presents a virtual narration of ‘Mahatma Gandhi's Message of Compassion and Peace: Guiding Humanity in Turbulent Times', by eminent Gandhian and Internationally Acclaimed Speaker on Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Shobhana Radhakrishna on 30th January 2026
The Gandhian Forum is primarily constituted for member organizations of SCOPE, who are working onwards enhancing the standards of the corporate governance and corporate social responsibility of their companies in such a way as to achieve corporate sustainability in a global environment. The Gandhian Forum will identify the need and organise program in order to spread the learning and focus attention on good ethical leadership practices nationally and internationally that are based on Gandhian economics..
At the practical level the forum deliberates on how Gandhian wisdom can guide us in our quest for finding more effective ways of coping up with the complex challenges of our times. It also sees how Gandhianeconomic principlescan help us better cope up with reference to contemporary Indian economy under globalization, the predicament in the Industries to attain a sustainable economic order as well as inpersonal, interpersonal and spiritual predicaments in our lives.
Eighty five years ago Mahatma Gandhi had advised Indian business leadersthat the value of an industry should be gauged less by the dividends it pays to shareholders than by its effect on the bodies, soul and spirits of the people employed in it. But today, the nature and complexion of political-business partnership is far from this.

Karuna Katha is a reflection on compassion and altruism in the lives of Mahatma Gandhi and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This exclusive event commemorates the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and forms part of a yearlong celebration of the Year of Compassion. It honours Mahatma Gandhi and the Dalai Lama for their lifelong dedication to compassion, altruism, peace, and non-violence.
Dr. Shobhana Radhakrishna delivered lectures on ‘Transformational Leadership of Mahatma Gandhi’ organised by the Malwa Cultural Association, Global Indian International School (GIIS), and jointly by Hindu Endowments Board, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Trust, Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, and Singapore Indian Development Association. The High Commission of India in Singapore facilitated her talks.

An eminent Gandhian philosopher, Dr. Shobhana Radhakrishna delivered lectures on ‘Gandhian philosophy and women’s empowerment’ at the American University of Iraq, Baghdad (AUIB), AL-Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad and the Embassy of India, Baghdad- Iraq on the occasion of the International Women’s Day and under the aegis of the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and commemoration of the 70th anniversary of India-Iraq friendship treaty.
